After Login into the DFP account, Click on Inventory for creating New Ad Unit
1- Click on Ad unit, for new ad unit …….
2- Beside ad unit you have two more option so does Bulk upload news ad units and download ad units
A) Bulk upload ad units:-
1- You can upload bulk number of ad units using CSV file in DFP
2- Click Choose File to find your CSV file.
3- Click Upload and validate.
4- Verify that the ad unit settings are correct.
5- Click Confirm upload to upload the new ad units.
6- You must follow rules for uploading bulk number of ad slots in DFP. As follows
B) Download ad units
When you click on download ad units – automatic the ad units which you have previous will download in terms of CSV file.
When you go new ad unit … you have fill following details
3- Code – you name the Code as per your requirement which is relevant to ad slot or else for your easy understanding. You can also include “_” for describing ad slot
4- Name – By default – whatever you name for the code.. is same for the Name too
5- Description – It’s an optional where it’s helpful to you for identifying the ad slot content
6- Size – > fixed size – Smart Banner
a) Fixed Size – ads format is displayed according width x height in pixels. Ad unit is determined by the size of the ad intended to fill the unit.
b) Smart Banner – It’s main useful for mobile apps only. Allows DFP to choose the largest creative that will fit into the available space at the time of an ad request.
7- Target Window:-
If you keep the target window in top format when any user click an ad, it will redirect in same window.
If you keep the target window in blank format when any user clicks an ad, it will redirect in next window
8- Placements (optional) :-
A placement is a group of ad units that advertisers can target all at once. To add this ad unit to placements, search for each placement, then click “include.” Click the x icon to remove the ad unit from a placement, or click “Reset” to remove the ad unit from all placements.
9- Ad Sense inventory settings :- When you run the ad with adsense it’s necessary if not, there is no need. When you don’t run ad with ad sense click on override. And there you unmark or clear ride
10- Ad unit frequency caps :- No change. Based on requirements change the settings.
Frequency caps limit the number of times that users are shown creatives. You can set frequency caps for an ad unit and associate them with labels. Creatives that are associated with each label will follow the frequency cap rules you create for that label whenever they’re delivered to an ad unit with that label. You can also use labels to apply frequency caps to your whole network.
11- Refresh rate
Mainly Refresh rate allows ad units in mobile apps automatically refersh for certain period of time. To maximize ad revenue for games to stay on one screen for long period of time it is used for mobile apps
After creating ad slot you have to generate Google Publisher Tag (GPT)
1- Go to particular Ad slot – > Click on Generate tags which is located at right button on top
2- On clicking on Generate tags you will see three step as follows
a) Select tag Type
b) Select Tag options
c) Tag results
In Select tag type you will have two tags
– Google Publisher Tag
– Mobile Applications
3- Go to Google Publisher Tag and continue …..
Don’t change anything in Select Tag options. Click Continue for next step
